Cool Cats x Macy’s: Physical Collectibles with Digital Perks

We’re celebrating the Macy’s Parade by offering three unique pieces of collectible merchandise, blending physical collectibles with unique digital experiences. We can’t be more excited to share the details below! 

First, we are proud to present our first-ever vinyl collectable figure. Standing 6” tall and made of high quality vinyl by renowned toy manufacturer Yume, the figure commemorates our 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® balloon featuring Blue Cat and Chugs. Every detail, from the classic yellow shirt and green pants worn by Blue Cat, to the flexible whiskers extending from Blue’s face, was thoughtfully designed and implemented with care. Our vinyl collectibles are available for $24.99, and are available now on Macys.com.

Next up is the Blue Cat plush, capturing Blue’s iconic outfit and look in an adorable, cuddly package. The 9” plush is firm enough to sit on a shelf, but soft enough to be your new favorite stuffed animal. Featuring details like printed pant pockets, and a tag sharing a bit of Blue’s background, this plush is sure to be a hit with everyone from kids to collectors. Both the collectible figure and plush come with a QR code that, when scanned, unlocks special digital collectibles and assets within the Cool Cats’ avatar system. Each collectible also comes with an Explorer, a digital identity for everyone within the Cool Cats Ecosystem, which allows you to customize and craft your own look using our wearables. We believe this is just the first step in building a seamless integration between your physical items and your digital identity.

Our most limited edition item with Macy’s is our special-edition commemorative hoodie, all 100 of which will be available exclusively at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City. This hoodie integrates NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, making it the first NFC-enabled wearable sold in a major retail setting. By scanning the embedded NFC chip, purchasers can claim a digital version of the hoodie for their Cool Cats avatar. This feature leverages a modified version of Azuki’s opensource PBT (Physical Backed Token) contract, blending the physical purchase with an avatar wearable that matches your physical self.
