TLDR

Leadership Update

  • Clon has stepped into an expanded leadership role, overseeing the strategy and vision of Cool Cats alongside the day-to-day operations

New Community Council Members

  • Four new community council members have been selected to join the existing team. Welcome Bun, Lidoff, Kadabra, and Subvert!

Cool Cattern Release

  • Cool Cattern is the first collectible in the CLON: Originals collection. Airdropped to 99 featured Cool Cats, those who received the NFT may claim a free physical print, hand-signed by Clon.

Journeys & Sidekicks

  • Season 2 of Journeys is complete and rewards have been airdropped to participating holders. Season 3 will launch following the Sidekicks mint. Expect new “Workshop,” “Lab,” and “Studio” programs to leverage Sidekick IP rewards.

Gaming Update

  • The launch of our iCandy game has been postponed to Q1 2024. This allows the team time to craft a high-quality product that aligns with our brand and stakeholder expectations.

Town Hall Revamp

  • We will be transitioning to a new town hall format, hosting monthly Discord chats with the team rather than Twitter Spaces. This shift in focus will open the door for Clon to host “Cloncast” spaces and Merv to host spaces focused on interviewing the broader Web3 community.

Leadership Update

Earlier this month, we announced that Clon has stepped into an expanded leadership role, overseeing the company’s strategic vision and day-to-day operations moving forward. Stephen has stepped down from his role as CEO, and we want to thank him for his dedication to Cool Cats and all his contributions over the past year.

New Website

Our website has a fresh new look! Along with our redesign, the site offers more insight into our characters, brand initiative, and Journeys. We look forward to expanding our community page soon. Share your thoughts and feedback with us on Discord, under “Feedback.”

Cool Cattern Release

“Cool Cattern” is the first collectible in the CLON: Originals collection. Inspired by Clon’s 2016 Catoonist classic, “Cattern 3.0,” this drawing sparked the inception of Cool Cats, which was first released on the blockchain on July 1st, 2021. 

“Cool Cattern” features 99 holders who minted a Cool Cat and held it until December 2022. Featured holders received an airdrop of the artwork and are eligible to claim a free hand-signed physical print from Clon until September 1 at 3PM ET. 

Journeys & Sidekicks

Following the close of Season 2, we airdropped Journey rewards to random participating holders. Five Cool Cats, 50 Shadow Wolves, and three Shadow Wolf Scholars were given new homes. More rewards and excitement are coming in Season 3, following the Sidekicks mint. Expect Sidekicks to be released in September. We’re focused on making Sidekicks a significant and enduring product. For more information, check out our lite paper, Introducing Sidekicks.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to introduce three new programs: “The Workshop,” “The Lab,” and “The Studio.” Outlining our long-term vision and how to leverage the Sidekicks IP, we’re all about collaborating with our community to build the brand together. Expect to be rewarded for your contributions. Moreover, keep an eye out for the upcoming “Creator Portal” and “Builders Fund” programs, designed to grow and expand IP across all our collections.

Gaming Update

We’ve promised three games which are still in development. We are still on track to deliver these gaming experiences over the course of the next year. That said, our iCandy game release has been postponed until Q1 2024. 

With more time to polish and deliver, the iCandy team can create a product that better aligns with our brand and vision, as well as provide a high-quality product that meets stakeholder expectations.

Town Hall Revamp

Going forward, we’re enhancing our communication channels and introducing monthly town halls on Discord, providing a Q&A platform for our community to directly interact with Clon and the team. 

Clon will host regular “Cloncast” Twitter spaces to share updates and news about Cool Cats’ development. Merv will begin hosting spaces with a community focus, featuring interviews with prominent Web3 members and delving into their creative processes.

For significant Cool Cats news, Twitter will remain our main announcement hub, followed by Spaces for more in-depth discussions. We want to continue facilitating and nurturing a strong connection between our team and community through robust communication.
